Welcome Aboard
We're a cozy community of believers who seek to find our way in life by following Jesus together, and we want you with us on the journey.
Our patron, Saint Brendan the Navigator, went on a seven-year voyage across the Atlantic to discover new lands. As we discover new meaning in our own lives through faith, we gather as One Body in Christ to receive Strength for the Journey in our common worship and sacraments. We take care of each other and consider our community a Safe Harbor in life. We seek to discover True North by growing in our faith and meeting each other in small groups. And we come together with All Hands on Deck to serve others because of the love we have found here.
We were formed in 1929 as a small mission church. Today, we have grown to over 1200 families. Our community is close-knit and intimate, but we are open and welcoming. On Sundays, you’ll find a warm smile at our welcome station, uplifting music, inspiring messages, and genuine hospitality. Plan a visit this weekend and find your way with us.

Your Shipmates
Father Roger GustafsonPastorI grew up in a suburban neighborhood of Atlanta and first learned about Jesus in the Lutheran church where my mom taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. At the age of 24, I had a spiritual awakening and began to seek God on my own. I found my way to the Catholic Church in 1989. Although I felt drawn to the priesthood, I avoided God’s call for almost twenty years, doing many other things, including working as a healthcare administrator and earning a Ph.D. in Religion and Social Ethics from the University of Southern California and a law degree from the University of Chicago. I practiced law for seven years and then began once again to discern a call to the priesthood in 2006. I studied at Saint Patrick’s Seminary and was ordained on June 7, 2014. I am deeply grateful that God has planted me here as the Pastor of this cozy, intimate, and close-knit community known as Saint Brendan the Navigator. My goal is to help everyone who comes through our doors to find their way with us.

Sister Angela FuriaDirector of Ministry & Member CareOur God is a personal and intimate God, who fills each individual heart with joy, peace, and meaning and urges us to be constantly ready to bring that same love to others. My work at Saint Brendan is to form small groups within the parish, support the people working in existing parish ministries, and engage new parishioners in the many liturgical, formative, and service activities of the parish. My hope is that each person at Saint Brendan will become an intentional disciple of Christ and engaged in the ministry and mission of the Church.

Vera GonzalezAdministrative AssistantI am a quiet and simple person. After the death of my youngest son, I started a long journey with Jesus. As a member of the lay Carmelite order, I am at the service of our Lord Jesus Christ and desire only his will. Our Lord gave me three very beautiful sons and wonderful parents whom I love very much. With great surprise, Our Lord and His Mother put in my path Father Roger and this extraordinary staff (now friends) here at Saint Brendan. It will be my great joy to meet all of you.
