Though women were considered second-class citizens in the ancient Jewish world, Jesus recognized the inherent dignity of women and treated them with respect, kindness, and equality. He defied cultural expectations by teaching them and inviting them to travel with him on his missions. It must have come as a welcome relief to many women, including a small-town girl named Mary of Bethany, who fell head over heels in love with the Son of God. Listen to this beautiful message about a woman who did what she could in the moment to help Jesus and who teaches us to do the same through small acts of love.
