in Your Life
Each Sunday we come to church to find our way in a confusing world. But our mission really begins when we leave through the doors of the church. Once we allow Christ to chart our course, then we can help others find their way.
There are so many opportunities to make a difference. We know many things compete for your attention. But we also know you’ll never really be happy until you begin serving others and putting your love to work.
Take a look at a few of our ministries below and sign up to get more information. Get your hands on deck!
Father Roger Gustafson
I grew up in a suburban neighborhood of Atlanta and first learned about Jesus in the Lutheran church where my mom taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. At the age of 24, I had a spiritual awakening and began to seek God on my own. I found my way to the Catholic Church in 1989. Although I felt drawn to the priesthood, I avoided God’s call for almost twenty years, doing many other things, including working as a healthcare administrator and earning a Ph.D. in Religion and Social Ethics from the University of Southern California and a law degree from the University of Chicago. I practiced law for seven years and then began once again to discern a call to the priesthood in 2006. I studied at Saint Patrick’s Seminary and was ordained on June 7, 2014. I am deeply grateful that God has planted me here as the Pastor of this cozy, intimate, and close-knit community known as Saint Brendan the Navigator. My goal is to help everyone who comes through our doors to find their way with us.

Father Peterson Tieng
My personal motto is, "I am God’s beloved and hope to be an instrument of showing God’s love to others." I work with parents and godparents whose children are to be baptized, visit and give communion to homebound parishioners, preach and celebrate Mass, and do whatever I can to bring Christ to the people of Saint Brendan.

Sister Angela Furia
Our God is a personal and intimate God, who fills each individual heart with joy, peace, and meaning and urges us to be constantly ready to bring that same love to others. My work at Saint Brendan is to form small groups within the parish, support the people working in existing parish ministries, and engage new parishioners in the many liturgical, formative, and service activities of the parish. My hope is that each person at Saint Brendan will become an intentional disciple of Christ and engaged in the ministry and mission of the Church.

Manolito Jaldon, Jr.
Director of Evangelization & Faith Formation
I serve families who have children in non-Catholic schools, accompany people who are discovering the richness and beauty of Catholicism, and teach the faith in the classroom at our parish school. My fiancée and I will celebrate our marriage in 2018, and I’m excited to share a wonderful life with her.
Director of Music Ministry
I oversee the finances of both the church and the school. I have a degree in business administration and accounting and have worked in various capacities in tax and financial analysis. I have two daughters attending Saint Brendan School and Saint Ignatius College Preparatory. I enjoy morning runs, working out with my daughters and dancing with friends. I love the fellowship we all share as we serve the Lord and strengthen and develop our community.

I grew up in San Francisco and recently graduated from San Francisco State University. I love my new career because I get to see everyone’s smiles on Sunday mornings and enjoy being an active member of the church community. I assist parishioners and guests with requests such as parish registration, Mass intentions, organizing parish collections and more. I love to serve and look forward to seeing the parish grow in Faith, Prayer, and Love.
